Bushmans Kloof is proud to share the exciting news of being nominated as the 5th ‘Top Hotel in the World’ by Travel + Leisure  - the leading travel magazine in the United States (August 2004). The lodge also claimed an impressive 4th place in both the ‘Top Hotels in Africa and Middle East’ category, as well as in the ‘Top 15 Small Hotels’ category.
 
Last year (2003) Travel + Leisure ranked Bushmans Kloof amongst the Top 25 Eco Lodges in the World. It was however a first for this unique Wilderness Reserve & Retreat to be competing against the very best hotels across the globe, in the prestigious 2004 Top Hotel categories.
 
Bushmans Kloof is uniquely located in the Cederberg mountains, 270 km from Cape Town. The Cederberg Wilderness area, which forms part of the Cape Floral Region, recently also made world headlines when it was classified as a World Heritage Site in recognition of its status as a place of ‘outstanding universal value’.
 
Bushmans Kloof is a 5-star Relais & Châteaux Retreat and Resort that offers a sanctuary for healing, relaxing, discovering and learning, as well as a safe and protected shelter for wildlife and many endangered species of flora and fauna.
 
In recognition of its dedication to the preservation and conservation of the pristine Bushman rock art and the rich cultural history of this ancient land, Bushmans Kloof was awarded South African National Heritage status in 1996.
