In September 2004, the Bushmans Kloof Heritage Centre was opened, which has as its permanent exhibition a collection of artefacts sourced by the late anthropologist, Jalmar Rudner. There is also a series of photographic portraits revealing the Bushman culture and customs together with authentic Bushman jewellery, dancing sticks, hunting kits, musical instruments, digging sticks and magic sets.

To bring more meaning to the abstract images on the rocks, guests visit the Heritage Centre to see a portrayal of the actual people who created the paintings. The Bushmans Kloof rangers hold specialist talks and discussions for guests in the Heritage Centre, with topics including all aspects of the reserve as well as insight into the general Cederberg Wilderness Area.
Adjacent to the Heritage Centre at the Homestead, is a unique medicinal herb garden where guests may learn more about these fascinating plants and the remedies used by the Bushman, KhoiBushman and later inhabitants.
